We are looking for a stockperson for our 300 sow, farrow to finish piggery. The piggery is a modern, hi-tech indoor facility located near Sheffield in Canterbury. Outdoor Pigs - Stockman / Machinery Operator

Large, outdoor, farrow to finish farm, S Island, NZ.
The position would suit someone who is honest, reliable and doesn't mind working outside in all weathers. It is essential that you are competent operating farm machinery. We use telehandlers for the daily routine and other tractor work may be required. You will need to pay close attention to detail and have a good attitude to work.

As employers, we have a good relationship with our staff, and feel we are easy to communicate with. We solely own our business which is Pig Care Accredited and are passionate about pigs.

Salary based on experience and responsibility. A good family home provided nearby. Own transport and drivers licence needed.

Looking for a pig farming job in New Zealand

Chris Blackstone is a 25 year old English male with a degree in Agriculture and animal science from Harper Adams University College in England.

I have several years of experience working in the British Pig industry working on a commercial farm and also in a boar stud. I have gained experience in every aspect of a commercial farm. I traveled to New Zealand on a gap year in 2005 and fell in love with the place and have been waiting for the perfect time to come back to New Zealand and work. I fully understand that a visa will be required for working in New Zealand and have most of the paperwork required for a visa already organised or currently being processed.

Scottish female seeks pig work

Sarah Wylie is 23 years old and working on a 680 sow unit in Scotland, as a graduate trainee in pig management. I achieved my BSc in Agriculture from the Scottish Agricultural College in 2009 and came straight to this farm to work over a year ago, the pig industry is a passion of mine, always has been.

In my current role I have been challenged with basically running the day to day work on the farm along with my team, and I focus on the paperwork. Last year we had a very difficult winter which saw our mortality rate at extreme levels as we farrow outdoors. I have to say this was horrendous to see, and took a lot out of myself and my team. With winter fast approaching I am beginning to dread this again.
